ANGELOLOGY
CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION TO ANGELOLOGY
This research paper will be limited to the topics of Angelology, Anthropology, and Hamartiology. Systematic Theology delves into the sciences of theology in religion, philosophy, and arts. The book, “Systematic Theology” Volume 2, Angelology, Anthropology, and Hamartiology is needed more now than ever. God’s Word has not lost its power but the hearing of the Word of God is not being proclaimed as much as it once was in this “Christian country.” "The days are coming," declares the Sovereign LORD, "when I will send a famine through the land-- not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD. Men will stagger from sea to sea and wander from north to east, searching for the word of the LORD, but they will not find it.” (Amos 8:12)
There are two divisions of angels, namely, the holy angels and the fallen angels. To these are added the Gentiles, the Jews, and the Christians. All go into eternity or future ages.
Some people worship angels. People forget that we are not to bow down to any graven image whether man or angel. Angels are created beings like man. They are in fact, a reality. Angels are not just lounging around in heaven playing a harp. No, they are very much involved in the affairs of humanity on earth. Angels are mentioned some 108 times in the Old Testament and some 165 times in the New Testament. They are present at the creation of man in the Old Testament. Angels are present at the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. The death angel is present in Egypt delivering death to all those who did not have the blood of lamb painted on the doorposts of their home. They are ministering spirits that serve by ministering to mankind as God wills. Angels are very much a reality and very much involved in the affairs of mankind. Their name, in the Hebrew tongue, is ma’lik which means, “messenger.” The angels of heaven bring good tidings to mankind at the birth of Jesus Christ. Angels brought news about Jesus’ resurrection at the empty tomb. Angles are very much involved in the end-times affairs of mankind in the book of Revelation.
God’s word is very adamant that angels are real and involved in God’s plan of the ages.
The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place. (Ps. 68:17)
But ye have come unto Mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels. (Heb. 12:22)
Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts. (Ps. 148:2)
